Nicoleta Esinencu wurde 1978 in einem Land geboren, das es heute nicht mehr gibt. So wie die Protagonistin in FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA!, dem Stück, das die moldawische Autorin als Stipendiatin auf Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart schrieb und das ihr 2005 den rumänischen dramAcum-Preis und ein Aufführungsverbot in Moldawien einbrachte. Esinencus Monolog ist ein selbstbewusstes Spiel mit dem Gegenüber, ist Geständnis, Anklage, Symptomsammlung und Gedächtnis einer Transformation: vom Kommunismus zum Postkommunismus, in die neue Zeit, in der sich alles und vieles nicht ändert, vom Heilsversprechen zur Desillusionierung.
Es ist diese Perspektive, für sie sich die deutsch-französische Regisseurin délit B.-Malthet mit ihrem Kollektiv europa transistor interessiert, überzeugt davon, dass „individuelle Identität und Kollektiv, Anpassung und Ausgrenzung, Ungleichheiten, Heimat und Heimatlosigkeit“ ureigenste europäische Themen sind. Pandemiebedingt blieb ihr Bühnenprojekt FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA! bislang unrealisiert. Mit dem Auftrag zu einer filmischen Umsetzung setzen das Straßburger Theater Maillon und Fast Forward ihre Kooperation zur Förderung junger Theatermacher*innen, die Grenz- und Sprachgrenzen überschreitend arbeiten, fort.
Délit B.-Malthet, *1992 in Deutschland, studierte Schauspiel und Theaterwissenschaft in Paris, realisierte spartenübergreifend Werkstatt-Projekte in Frankreich und Deutschland und arbeitete u. a. für die Oper. FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA! ist ihre vierte eigenständige Regiearbeit.

Nicoleta Esinencu was born in 1978 in a country that no longer exists. Just like the protagonist in FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA!, a play the Moldavian author wrote as a fellow at Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and which earned her the Romanian dramAcum Prize in 2005 and a performance ban in Moldova. Esinencu’s monologue is a self-confident game with the listener, it’s a confession, an accusation, a collection of symptoms and memories of radical change: from communism to post-communism, to a new time, in which everything and not much changes, from the promise of salvation to disillusionment.
It is this perspective that the German-French director délit B.-Malthet and her collective europa transistor are interested in, convinced that “individual identity and the collective, conforming and exclusion, inequalities, nationhood and homelessness” are the very essence of European themes. Due to the pandemic, her theatre project FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA! has not made it to the stage yet. With a commission to produce a film version, the Theater Maillon in Strasbourg and Fast Forward continue their cooperation to promote young theatre-makers who work across borders and language barriers.
