Mit einer Jury ist eine Gruppe von Menschen dazu eingeladen, öffentlich zu beschreiben, was sie gesehen hat. Natürlich gibt es immer unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf eine Inszenierung, und eben darum ist es spannend, diese gemeinsam kennenzulernen. Auch 2025 gibt es wieder eine Fast Forward Jugendjury: Fünf Jugendliche und eine Mentorin werden gemeinsam das Festival besuchen und am letzten Abend ihre Wahl treffen, ebenso wie die internationale Fachjury und die Zuschauer*innen mit dem Publikumspreis. Wir freuen uns auf eine vielstimmige Preisverleihung!
A jury is a group of people who have been invited to publicly describe what they’ve seen. Of course there are always different perspectives on a production and that’s why it’s so interesting to hear about them. In 2025, there will again be a Fast Forward Young Jury: five young people and one mentor will visit the festival together and make their decision on the last night of the festival, as will the international jury of experts and the audience with the audience award. We’re looking forward to an awards ceremony with lots of different voices!

Am letzten Abend des Festivals zeichnet die internationale Festivaljury eine der acht Inszenierungen aus. Der Festivalpreis 2025 besteht aus der Einladung zu einer Arbeitsresidenz in Dresden. Den Preis richtet das Staatsschauspiel Dresden in Kooperation mit HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste aus. Die Festival-Jury 2025 besteht aus einer Dramaturgin und Kuratorin, einem Regisseur und Theaterleiter, der künstlerischen Leiterin eines internationalen Produktionshauses, einer Theaterkritikerin und einem Mitglied des Schauspielensembles des Staatsschauspiels Dresden.
Carmen Hornbostel, *1991 bei Hamburg, studierte Psychologie in Göttingen und Sevilla, Spanien. Nach einer Dramaturgieassistenz am Deutschen Theater Berlin arbeitete sie in der Dramaturgie des Berliner Theatertreffens. 2017 wurde sie feste Mitarbeiterin im International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM) des Schweizer Theatermachers Milo Rau und ging mit dessen Intendanz 2018 als Dramaturgin an das NTGent in Belgien. Seit 2023 leitet sie die Dramaturgie der Wiener Festwochen.
Csaba Polgár, *1982 in Szikszó, studierte Schauspiel an der Universität für Schauspiel und Film in Budapest. Er ist Gründungsmitglied des Theaterkollektivs HOOPart, mit dem er seine ersten Regiearbeiten realisierte. Mit seiner Inszenierung KORIJOLÁNUSZ war er 2012 zu Fast Forward und Radikal jung eingeladen. Er inszeniert in Ungarn, Deutschland und Litauen. Seit 2007 ist er Schauspieler und Regisseur im Ensemble des Örkény István Theaters in Budapest, das er seit 2025 gemeinsam mit Máté Gáspár künstlerisch leitet.
Carena Schlewitt, *1961 in Leipzig, ist Dramaturgin, Kuratorin und Theaterleiterin. Sie studierte Theaterwissenschaften an der Humboldt Universität Berlin, arbeitete an der Akademie der Künste in Ost-Berlin und war anschließend bei internationalen Produktionshäusern und Festivals als Dramaturgin, Kuratorin und künstlerische Leiterin in Berlin, Düsseldorf und Basel tätig. Seit der Spielzeit 2018/2019 ist sie Intendantin von HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste in Dresden.
Natasha Tripney, *1979 in Ashford, ist freiberufliche Autorin und Kritikerin in London und Belgrad. 2011 war sie Mitgründerin von Exeunt, einer Plattform für unabhängige und experimentelle Theaterkritik. Sie ist die internationale Herausgeberin des britischen Theatermagazins The Stage, schreibt für The Guardian und BBC Culture. Sie gibt SEEstage heraus, ein englischsprachiges Online-Magazin über das südosteuropäische Theater und schreibt den wöchentlichen europäischen Theater-Newsletter Café Europa.
Marin Blülle, *1995 in der Schweiz, studierte Schauspiel an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig, war Mitglied des Schauspielstudios Dresden und ist seit der Spielzeit 2021/2022 Ensemblemitglied am Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Als Schauspieler erhielt er zahlreiche Auszeichnungen u. a. 2024 den Erich-Ponto-Preis des Fördervereins Staatsschauspiel Dresden e. V. 2023 gab er mit BILDER DEINER GROSSEN LIEBE von Wolfgang Herrndorf sein Regiedebüt an der Bühne Aarau.
Nadja Stübiger, in Plauen/Vogtland geboren, studierte Schauspiel in Leipzig. Nach zwei Jahren Aufenthalt in Mittelamerika engagierte sie Catherine Sullivan an die Volksbühne Berlin und führte sie zu Projekten nach Chicago und Miami. Danach arbeitete sie sieben Jahre am Staatstheater Stuttgart, später freischaffend in Berlin, und gehört seit 2017 zum Ensemble des Staatsschauspiels Dresden, wo sie auch unterrichtet und u. a. mit Lily Sykes, Frank Castorf und Sebastian Hartmann zusammenarbeitet.

On the last night, the international festival jury will award a prize to one of the eight festival productions. The festival award will consist of an invitation to a work residence in Dresden. The award is hosted by the Staatsschauspiel Dresden in cooperation with HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts. The 2025 festival jury includes a dramaturge and curator, a director and theatre manager, the artistic director of an international production house, a theatre critic, and a member of the acting ensemble of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.
Carmen Hornbostel, *1991 near Hamburg, studied psychology in Göttingen and Seville in Spain. After working as an assistant dramaturge at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, she worked in the dramaturgy department of the Berliner Theatertreffen. In 2017, she was permanently employed at the International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM) run by Swiss theatre-maker Milo Rau and moved to the NTGent in Belgium when he was made artistic director there. She has been head of dramaturgy at the Wiener Festwochen since 2023.

Ein Festival für junge Regie sollte auch eine junge Jury haben. Der Blick der jungen Generation ist zweifellos ein ganz eigener. In der Kunst, im Theater, beim Geschichtenerzählen, auf und vor der Bühne geht es auch immer um den Resonanzkörper, der wir als Zuschauende sind. Es geht um das Echo, das eine Inszenierung in uns auslöst, sei es Identifizierung oder Distanzierung, Sympathie oder Ablehnung, die Erfahrung eines neuen Gefühls oder die intensive Begegnung mit einem Gedanken. Publikum zu sein, ist manchmal Arbeit, das wissen die Fachleute ganz gut. Daher freuen wir uns, in diesem Jahr wieder fünf junge Menschen in der Jugendjury begrüßen zu dürfen, die mit professioneller Unterstützung die Inszenierungen des Festivals sichten und parallel zur Festivaljury einen eigenen Preis verleihen werden. Sie treffen Künstler*innen, diskutieren, laudatieren, applaudieren und genießen das volle Festivalprogramm. Bei der Preisverleihung wird die Jugendjury ihre Auswahl bekanntgeben und begründen, und dann wird er ein weiteres Mal verliehen werden: der Preis der Fast Forward Jugendjury!

A festival for young stage directors should have a young jury too. The young generation’s viewpoint is no doubt a very unique one. In art, in theatre, in storytelling, on and in front of the stage, it is also always about the resonating body that we are as the audience. It’s about the echo that a production triggers in us, whether that’s identification, distancing, sympathy or rejection, the experience of a new feeling or an intense encounter with an idea. Sometimes being the audience is work, theatre professionals know this very well. That’s why we’re happy to welcome five young people to the young jury again this year, who will watch all festival productions with professional support and also award a prize just like the festival jury. They’ll meet the artists, have discussions, give praise, applaud and enjoy the whole festival programme. At the award ceremony, the young jury will announce and explain their choice, and then the Fast Forward Young Jury Prize will be awarded once again!
