Die europäische Dimension von OUR STAGE – 4. EUROPÄISCHES BÜRGERBÜHNENFESTIVAL wird durch die Kooperation mit der European Theatre Convention (ETC) unterstrichen. 1988 gegründet, ist die ETC heute das größte Netzwerk öffentlicher Theater in Europa und stolz darauf, das Staatsschauspiel Dresden zu den 40 teilnehmenden Theatern aus mehr als 20 Ländern zählen zu können. Die ETC fördert europäisches Theater als eine lebendige Plattform für Austausch, Demokratie und Interaktion – als Antwort auf, Reflexion über und Dialog mit vielfältigen Zuhörerschaften und sich wandelnden Gesellschaften.
Partizipatives Theater, digitales Theater und Jugendtheater bilden die Grundpfeiler des aktuellen vierjährigen Programms ENGAGE der ETC, dessen Ziel es ist, Interesse für Theater bei einem größeren und vielfältigeren Publikum zu wecken. Das umfangreiche und wegweisende Konzept findet Unterstützung durch das Programm CREATIVE EUROPE der Europäischen Union. In ihrer Funktion als Netzwerk zielt die ETC darauf ab, die Idee der Bürgerbühne als neue Form des kreativen Bürgerkontakts mittels künstlerischer Kooperationen zu fördern und europaweit als neue Kunstform zu etablieren.
Das Staatsschauspiel Dresden und OUR STAGE – 4. EUROPÄISCHES BÜRGERBÜHNENFESTIVAL sind im Mai 2019 zudem Gastgeber der zwei Mal jährlich stattfindenden Internationalen Theaterkonferenz der ETC. Theaterschaffende der ETC-Mitgliedstheater und eingeladene Expert*innen treten in einen internationalen Austausch über das Theaterformat der Bürgerbühne und seine zukünftigen Entwicklungen.

The European dimension of OUR STAGE – 4th EUROPEAN BÜRGERBÜHNE FESTIVAL is underlined by partnering up with the European Theatre Convention (ETC). Founded in 1988, ETC is now the largest network of public theatres in Europe and is proud to count the Staatsschauspiel Dresden among its 40 members representing more than 20 countries. ETC promotes European theatre as a vital platform for dialogue, democracy and interaction that responds to, reflects and engages with today’s diverse audiences and changing societies.
Participatory theatre is a core pillar of ETC’s current four-year ENGAGE programme, together with digital and youth theatre in order to promote theatre formats for larger and more diverse audiences to enjoy and discover theatre performances. This comprehensive, groundbreaking programme is supported by the CREATIVE EUROPE programme of the European Union. In its role of network, ETC aims at introducing the idea of Bürgerbühne as a new form of creative community outreach via artistic collaboration and as a new artistic business model at a pan-European level.
Staatsschauspiel Dresden and OUR STAGE – 4th EUROPEAN BÜRGERBÜHNE FESTIVAL are moreover the host of the beannual ETC International Theatre Conference in May 2019, so the participatory theatre form and its future developments will be explored internationally with performing arts professionals of ETC Member Theatres and guest experts.
