An open society needs ... … дружба, Freundschaft, amitié, friendship, amistad!
The Montagscafé is a transcultural meeting place for all people from Dresden and surroundings. Here, we not only deal with migration and culture theoretically, but live it: pop culture, subculture, food culture, film culture and dance, theatre, comic, textile, print or word art – our culture and art prosper due to migration processes and the Montagscafé is right in the middle of it.
At 3 pm we offer an international women's café with a children's programme, and from 5 pm to 10 pm we have the Open Café, where weekly changing evening events take place, as well as our social counselling services take place.
NU PERSPECTIVES is the title of our three-year series of events that takes place as part of the Montagscafé and with which we want to tackle new impulses from the immigration society in Dresden and Saxony in collaboration with various artists and experts. For example, we create a new newspaper for Dresden (NEW DRESDEN DAILY), a transcultural fashion line (NU STYLE) or interactive discussion formats on art and politics in/from Afghanistan, Syria or Iran.
Admission to all Monday Café events is free – Yalla!
