On the last evening of the festival, the international jury will recognize one of the eight performances of the festival. The awardee or awardees will be invited to stage a new production at Staatsschauspiel Dresden in the upcoming season. The jury will also meet members of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden acting ensemble on that last festival day to exchange views about the festival productions.
studied art history at the Complutense University Madrid. She worked as an assistant at the Sorolla Museum in Madrid and completed research fellowships at the Academia de España in Rome and at Museo del Prado in Madrid, amongst others. In 2011 she completed her Master of Fine Arts in Curating at Goldsmiths University in London. She is the producer and co-founder of the Mirage theatre group in Madrid and, together with Miguel Oyarzun and Mike Tweedle, initiator and artistic director of the Birmingham European (BE) Festival for young performative theater at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. In September 2018 Aguilar together with Oyarzun, took over the artistic direction of the Madrid Cultural Centre El Conde Duque.
studied theater studies, German literature and political science in Munich. She worked for Bayerischer Rundfunk and Frankfurter Rundschau and was editor of the trade journal Theater heute from 1997 to 2018. She was a juror at the Impulse Theater Festival, the Mülheimer Theatertage, the Körber Studio for Young Directors and the Berliner Theatertreffen (2005 – 2007, 2013 – 2016). In 2012 – 2017 she moderated the public jury meetings of the Körber Studio. Since 2017 she has been a member of the selection committee of the Capital Cultural Fund. Her expertise in the performing arts includes puppet and figure theater as well as participatory art and performance and the latest artistic developments in the national and international theater landscape.
studied philosophy at the University of Warsaw and theater direction at the Warsaw Theatre Academy. He has directed more than 30 productions performed on the stages of theaters in Warsaw, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, Lublin, Łódź and Toruń, followed by seventy radio plays. 2000 – 2003, he served as vice-director at the Polish Theatre in Poznań. 2006 – 2014, he was director at the Polish Theater in Bydgoszcz and Prapremier Festival. Since September 2014 he is the director of Powszechny Theater in Warsaw. Beyond this he is main curator of Forum for the Future of Culture, vice-president of the Polish Theater Directors’ Association and co-founder of the Guild of Polish Theater Directors. He is a laureate of numerous prestigious awards.
studied in Cologne and Munich. After having worked as a dramaturg at the Theater Graz and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, among others, he was lead dramaturg at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. In 1999 he transferred to the Theater Bremen as head dramaturg and deputy of the senior general director. From the 2006/2007 season on, he held the same position at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. As general director, Joachim Klement took over artistic direction at the Staatstheater Braunschweig with the 2010/2011 season. From the 2017/2018 season on, he is artistic director of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Since October 2013, he has been a member of the European Theatre Convention (ETC).
